My littlest girl may only have had only celebrated 2 birthdays in her life, but she makes it easy for me by having a favourite character every year. Her first birthday was a Barbapapa cake which was fun but not the most challenging one. Just into her second year, I introduced her to Sesame Street and of course. She took to Elmo like any other child. So for her second birthday, it was a no brainer. I made a layered devil’s chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling (mostly to please me) frosted with vanilla buttercream which, by the way was pain-in-the-a**e to colour because of the red required. However, the results were stunning and Inès (ok, myself included) was genuinely pleased with her cake!
